I’ve been trying to figure out what to do for my 2000th post…
I decided to write to somebody who may not ever see it.
I decided to write to somebody who may not ever see it.
Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life…You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like ‘maybe we should be just friends’ turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It’s a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.

When someone is reading a book and they randomly smile. I’m not sure why but it’s so interesting.

I really cannot describe my love for books. Reading has always been something I love to do, no matter where I am. Just the simple act of reading a few lines, gets me into another universe where I can see everything be played out before me. It keeps me sane. While actual books will always be my preference and my one true love, I have to say my nook is my baby. Having all my old friends with me wherever I go, really is something incredible.

So much better.
This is probably the reason why I’m still single. No man will ever life up to my literary loves.

madaquarius: Reading quiets the world down. When I read, I cannot hear the chatter of the people around me. I can’t see the walls that need repainting, or the laundry that needs washing. When I read, I don’t think about the bills I need to pay, or about the errands I should run, or about the aerobics I skipped this morning. Music is calming, and good movies are entertaining, but reading is complete; a whole body experience that consumes me through and through. The ticking of the clock fades away. The lights aren’t so bright anymore. A new world opens up and I step inside it, savoring the feeling of a life where I can walk with a character, walk with an author, live in a dream. And for that period of time, I am free.
Happy reading.

Les Chanson D’amour: Ma Mémoire Sale
I adore this song and video. It makes my heart ache for something like that again. I’m downloaded the movie and the soundtrack now.
I love the French language. I’m such a bad Cuban.
